The Boston Harbor Docking Pilots are a group of seven
highly-experienced, master ship handlers who assist Boston Towing
and Transportation in all forms of ship maneuvers.
Our pilots have 112 years of combined experience in guiding over
30,000 vessels through the complex waters and bridges of Boston and
Salem Harbors and terminals on the South Shore.
Our pilots are trained over an eight to ten year period prior to
being eligible to pilot in all areas.
The Boston Harbor Docking Pilots have met the highest level of professional
training, including ship handling and tractor tug simulation training.
All Boston Harbor Docking Pilots hold a First Class Federal Pilotage
Endorsement to their Master of Towing Vessel license.
